The Wild Rumpus Begins

We've had a bunch of birthday parties these past couple weekends, and there can't be a better summer activity than watching all the kids run around. Chaos can be fun!

Here's Nate at the big kid's table at Max's 5th birthday party. He gorged himself on juice and watermelon, but never made it to the hot dog.

Here's Max (as Batman) watching with bated breath as his birthday firetruck pulls up.

Nate had a brief go at the firetruck, but preferred to race back inside to play with Max's toys. Dan did climb up ON TOP OF the firetruck with Nate, but needless to say that made me nervous.

Thomas from playgroup turned two and had his party at My Gym. If you've never been, it's like the equivalent of a Pearl Jam concert for Dan. This is my favorite action shot.

Here's Nate and Lucy drowning in the ball pit.

Anderson turned two as well. Finally everyone in playgroup is 2!! The theme was monster trucks, as you can tell by the dual-flavored Baskin Robbins cake. Here's the whole family as Anderson blows out his candles.

Once the candles are blown out and Happy Birthday is sung, they start to cut the cake... and who appears to Anderson's left? Hmmmmm, someone is jonesing for cake. Sadly, he could only have some of the icing, because there's egg in ice cream. You cannot imagine the pathetic look he gave me.

And finally, I wanted to share with you an example of Nate's burgeoning career as a stand-up comic. Thomas makes for a great audience (the best part is when he doubles over in laughter). Seriously, how funny is it to spit ice out...
