But more exciting than playing with trains is actually riding on one! As a giant treat, Dan took Nate on CalTrain a couple weekends ago. Though he made the mistake of asking him in the morning if he wanted to go on a train in the afternoon. Note to selves: do not refer to exciting events in the far future because Nate wants it now if you're going to talk about it now. Duh Mom and Dad...
They took CalTrain to Palo Alto where Nate tried on a bike helmet at a bike store.
Then Nate had some sorbet (no, he was not being yuppy, it's just that most ice cream has egg in it). The smiles are prevalent.

The actual train ride, how sweet is this? Nate staked out a whole seat to himself, relegating Dad to across the aisle.
