Kite Kids

It's our annual tradition, the Berkeley Kite Festival. What's amazing is to compare these pictures with those from last year. How fun to watch these kids grow up! And I knew to bring the good camera, too, you get such awesome shots out there.

The weather was gorgeous, and we were some of the first to arrive (good thing too since the parking fills up so fast!). However, the planners got smart and added bouncy houses and horse rides, which in my opinion makes it a bit too much like every other festival. Who needs a bouncy house when there's an awesome rock to jump off of?

On the very same rock as last year, though it's harder to all fit on it because they're bigger!
Letting it all out. Notice the octopi behind Nate?

Nice airborne shot.

Gorgeous one of Kiera observing the scene

A gazelle, captured in the wild, tries to flee.

Lisa brought a kite this year, though it was a real struggle to keep it up. And none of the so-called experts around us so much as lifted a finger to help. Geesh!

Whoa

We did a loop around the festival. Nate wanted to be carried much of the way.

Little Adleigh's first kite event!

You just want to reach out and touch them...

Oooh I miss this festival! These traditions are such treasures... and you guys are such adventure artists, what a lucky little guy Nate is!
